WRITING TO TIMOTHY FROM PRISON, PAUL GAVE HIM A STRANGE COMMAND: "REMEMBER JESUS CHRIST.."
(2 TIMOTHY 2:8). THE AGED APOSTLE WAS CALLING ON HIS SPIRITUAL SON TO FOCUS ON JESUS CHRIST AND KEEP HIM CENTRAL IN HIS LIFE. ONE WOULD THINK THAT A SEASONED MINISTER LIKE TIMOTHY WOULD NOT NEED SUCH A BASIC REMINDER. BUT AS DANIEL ADDO SAYS IN THIS BOOK, "JESUS CHRIST CAN OFTEN BE ASSUMED RATHER THAN ENTHRONED IN OUR LIVES."

IN THIS BOOK, DANIEL ADDO CALLS READERS TO HEED PAUL'S COMMAND TO REMEMBER JESUS CHRIST. GIVEN HOW PRONE WE ARE TO DISTRACTION, AND THE MANY THINGS THAT TAKE OUR EYES OFF JESUS CHRIST, DANIEL ADDO BELIEVES THAT WE NEED THIS URGENT REMINDER TO REMEMBER JESUS CHRIST, WHICH IS REALLY A REMINDER TO FOCUS ON HIM. ULTIMATELY, THIS IS A BOOK ABOUT THE BEAUTY OF JESUS CHRIST. THE REASON WE ARE SO EASILY DISTRACTED FROM HIM IS THAT WE OFTEN LOSE SIGHT OF HIS BEAUTY. DANIEL ADDO WRITES TO REVEAL THE BEAUTY OF JESUS CHRIST SO THAT THE READERS' HEARTS CAN BE MAGNETIZED TO HIM. LIKE THE WRITER OF HEBREWS, THIS BOOK AIMS AT CALLING BELIEVERS TO FIX THEIR EYES ON JESUS, WHO IS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH (HEBREWS 12:1-3). THROUGH THIS BOOK, YOU WILL FIND YOUR HEART DRAWN AWAY FROM LESSER JOYS AND REFOCUSED ON THE GLORY OF JESUS CHRIST.
